How to... Navigate the board The board is made up of the components "forums", "threads/topics" and "posts". When you initially arrive here, you will see the Forums listed, as well as the Sub-Forums. ![]() When you have chosen which Forum you want to be posting in, you will see a list of Topic Titles indicating Topics which have been posted by other members. You have the option to start a Topic of your own at this point. When you have selected a Topic that you want to read, you will see the Posts already made by other members. You have the option of adding your own Post at this point. Search for topics. There may already be a topic or thread about your particular interest or question that you could reply to, or gain information from. Simply click on the 'search' option below the BHE picture banner. Eg. enter 'Bristol LEA' as a search term, choose 'search posts' , then 'search' to see the results.Start a new topic/thread. In each Forum, you can click the 'New Topic' button. This will take you to the posting form, and, when you have posted, will create a new topic with your post as the first one in the thread. Edit your post. 'Preview' your post first to see how it will appear before publishing. If you do spot a mistake in your published post, or if you need to add something more to it, you have 2 minutes in which you can edit it. All you need to do is click the "Edit" button in the bottom left corner of your post. This will bring back up the posting form with your full message quoted it in. Make your changes, then click "Edit Post" and the new post will be published. Reply to someone else's post. When you are in the thread that you want to reply to, click the "Add Reply" button on the top or bottom right of the screen. This will take you to the posting form, and, when you have posted, it will add your post to the topic you replied to. To reply to a specific post, you can also click the 'Quote' button in the bottom right corner of that post – this copies the text of the post you’re replying to into your post. Send/read a private message. To send a Private Message to another member, simply click on the "Inbox" button in the very top right corner of your screen, then select "Compose A Message". This will take you to a posting form much the same as the usual one - just be sure to specify which member you want to send the message to before sending it. To read a Private Message from another member: The number next to the "Inbox" button in the top right corner will display how many unread messages that you have in your inbox. If the number is higher than 0 simply click on it and it will take you straight to the message. Delete a private message. There's not a straightforward way of just deleting a no longer needed private message from your Inbox but we have just found out how you can delete it! If you check the box next to the message that you no longer want/need from your Inbox list, then select "Archive", the message will move into your Archive folder (listed between Inbox and Drafts on the left hand side of the screen). Once the message has been moved to the Archive folder, you can either leave it there to refer back to at some point or you can check the box next to the title and select "Delete" and then it goes *puff* into the ether
